Ordering and Custom 3D Printing
5. Do I need to supply my own 3D model?
Supplying your own 3D model is ideal, but it isn't always necessary.
If you already have a suitable digital model, we can assess it for printing. If you only have an idea, a sketch, or an existing physical part, contact us to discuss whether we can help develop a suitable design.
Design work may incur an additional charge, depending on the complexity of the project.
6. What file formats do you accept?
Common 3D printing file formats include STL, 3MF, and OBJ. STEP files can also be useful for certain engineering and CAD workflows.
If you have a file in another format, please get in touch to check whether we can work with it.
7. Can you print replacement parts that are no longer available?
In many cases, yes. 3D printing can be an excellent way to reproduce discontinued or hard-to-find components.
Depending on the part, we may be able to work from an existing digital model, measurements, drawings, or photographs. For more complex components, we may need the original part or additional design work.
Please note that not every component is suitable for reproduction, particularly where specialist materials, precise tolerances, or safety-critical performance are required.
8. Can you print multiple copies of the same item?
Yes. We can consider orders for multiple copies of the same component, subject to the size and complexity of the parts and our available printing capacity.
If you need several items, let us know the quantity when requesting a quote so we can assess the most suitable approach.
9. Can you print an existing design in a different size?
Often, yes. Many digital models can be scaled to suit your requirements.
However, simply changing the scale can affect wall thicknesses, clearances, and the fit of moving or connecting parts. Some designs may need adjustments before they can be printed successfully at a different size.
We'll assess your requirements and advise if any changes may be necessary.
